Sharla M.

Sewing/Quilting/Crafts Teacher

I’ve been a seamstress for 42 years and a quilter for 28—and yes, my favourite carry-on when I fly is my sewing machine! I started teaching sewing classes when I was just 18, and over the past 35+ years, I’ve taught more than 80 different classes to students of all ages and skill levels. In all those years, I’ve learned that sewing is about so much more than stitches—it's about confidence, creativity, and connection. My absolute favourite part of teaching is that moment when a student lights up and says, “I can’t believe I made this!” It never gets old. I believe with my whole heart that everyone is capable of creating something beautiful. My goal is to guide you gently, meet you where you are, and help you discover just how much you can do—with a little patience, some fabric, and a lot of encouragement.
