EARLY BIRD PRICING ENDS ON MARCH 25th!

Get ready for a full day of stitching, laughing, learning, and creating something you’ll be SO proud of.

Join us for Adventure in a Hoop, a hands-on 6-8 hour embroidery retreat designed to grow your skills and boost your confidence - no matter your machine brand. All brands welcome.

Lea will guide you step-by-step through two inspiring projects from Designs by JuJu, packed with techniques you’ll use again and again

Spend a creative day stitching, learning, and leveling up your embroidery skills!
In this one-day retreat, Lea will guide you through two fun machine-embroidery projects designed to build confidence and teach new techniques along the way.

We’ll kick things off by learning how to create machine-embroidered lace, turning a single color of thread into a charming lace ornament. Choose your favorite woodland friend—Bear, Moose, Wolf, or Rabbit—and discover how lace embroidery really works.

Next, we’ll dive into an In-the-Hoop embroidered wall hanging featuring cozy outdoor vibes, including trees and a trailer. This project comes in four hoop sizes, so you get to decide: bigger hoop, bigger finished piece! Along the way, you’ll practice embroidered appliqué, refine your stitching skills, and pick up tips you can use in future projects.

You’ll leave the day with beautiful finished pieces, new techniques under your belt, and plenty of inspiration for your next embroidery adventure.

💛 We’ll Take Care of You

This is a retreat-style day. While you learn and stitch, we’ll make sure you’re well fed and comfortable.

Lunch and dinner are provided, along with snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

No packing meals. No running out for food.
Just relax, stitch, eat, and enjoy.

✨Project One: Free Standing Lace Woodland Animals

We’re starting the day with pure embroidery magic - machine-embroidered lace.

Using just thread, you’ll create a delicate woodland ornament. Yes… THREAD. No fabric base. Watching it stitch out is seriously amazing.

Choose your woodland friend:

  • Bear

  • Moose

  • Wolf

  • Rabbit

You’ll learn how free-standing lace works, how to properly wind and use a lace bobbin, and how to achieve crisp, beautiful results.

Design included: Free Standing Lace Woodland Animals 1

🌲 Project Two: In-the-Hoop Woodland Wall Hanging

Next, we’ll create an In-the-Hoop wall hanging featuring trees and a sweet little trailer with all the cozy outdoor vibes.

It comes in four hoop sizes - so you decide how big you want to go. Bigger hoop = bigger finished piece.

During this project you’ll practice:

  • Embroidered appliqué

  • Precision trimming

  • Multi-step hooping

  • Professional finishing techniques

🧵 You will need to bring your own fabrics for this wall hanging project.
Fabric amounts will vary depending on your hoop size. We’ll provide a fabric requirements guide prior to class so you can cut and prep with confidence. See amounts on second photo.

✨ Batting will be provided for you.

Design included: ITH We Like to Sleep Around Wall Hanging

What You’ll Leave With

  • Two finished embroidery projects

  • Confidence in lace embroidery

  • Stronger appliqué skills

  • Practical tips you can apply to future designs

  • A day full of creativity and fun

This is the perfect class if you’ve been wanting to expand your embroidery knowledge in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Sharla M.

Sewing/Quilting/Crafts Teacher

I’ve been a seamstress for 42 years and a quilter for 28—and yes, my favourite carry-on when I fly is my sewing machine! I started teaching sewing classes when I was just 18, and over the past 35+ years, I’ve taught more than 80 different classes to students of all ages and skill levels. In all those years, I’ve learned that sewing is about so much more than stitches—it's about confidence, creativity, and connection. My absolute favourite part of teaching is that moment when a student lights up and says, “I can’t believe I made this!” It never gets old. I believe with my whole heart that everyone is capable of creating something beautiful. My goal is to guide you gently, meet you where you are, and help you discover just how much you can do—with a little patience, some fabric, and a lot of encouragement.
