12 Months • 12 Projects • A Whole Year of Creative Stitching!

Do you have a stash of beautiful fabrics, a basket overflowing with scraps, or little pieces you’ve been saving for just the right project? It’s time to turn those treasured bits and pieces into something wonderful!

Join us for the My Favorite Things Club, a beginner-friendly, year-long sewing adventure featuring charming little embroidery and patchwork projects inspired by the My Favorite Things pattern collection by Sherri Falls of This & That Patterns.

Throughout 2027, we’ll meet once a month to explore small-scale sewing, playful patchwork, and decorative embroidery. Using fabric scraps and treasures from your own stash, you’ll create a delightful collection of handmade projects, including pincushions, clip holders, and other useful and giftable sewing accessories.

These small projects are perfect for experimenting with colour, mixing prints, trying new techniques, and making the most of even the tiniest pieces of fabric. Add a little embroidery, some creative piecing, or a touch of ric-rac, and watch your scraps become something special!

Whether you’re a beginner looking to build your sewing skills or an experienced quilter who loves small projects, this club offers a relaxed, creative space to learn, stitch, share ideas, and enjoy a little sewing fun every month.

By the end of the year, you’ll have a lovely collection of handmade treasures, greater confidence in your sewing, and plenty of inspiration for using your stash in new and creative ways.

• Sewing and quilting basics and terminology
• How to read and follow a pattern
• Accurate cutting, piecing, and seam techniques
• Colour selection and combining fabrics from your stash
• How to incorporate small embroidered details into your projects
• Patchwork techniques for small-scale designs
• Decorative finishing touches, including trims and embellishments
• How to assemble, stuff, and finish pincushions and other small projects
• Creative ways to use leftover fabric and make every scrap count

Skill Level: Beginner-friendly. No previous quilting or embroidery experience required.

Please bring your own sewing and cutting supplies:

• Sewing machine, foot pedal, and power cord, in good working order
• 12" × 18" cutting mat
• Rotary cutter
• Ruler at least 18" long
• Pins
• Scissors
• Seam gauge
• Hand sewing needles
• Pressing mat and iron (communal one available)
• ¼" seam foot
• Coordinating thread
• Fabric scraps and favourite pieces from your stash

Small fabric pieces are welcome! Part of the fun is discovering how different fabrics work together to create unique little projects.
