Get the most out of your fabric when you use your project scraps to create a scrappy binding. This innovative die makes it “sew” simple to create with four different lengths of 2 ½" wide strips that already have the dog ears removed to come together quickly and easily. Combine all the lengths, or just use one or two, this die is the perfect way to wrap up your projects.

AQ Cutting Mat Required: GO! Cutting Mat, 6 in. x 24 in. (15.2 cm x 61 cm)

How to Die Cut 2½" Scrappy Binding Strips:

  • Cutting All Sizes: Cut up to six 5 1/2" x 21 1/4" rectangles. Place right side up over four shapes to cut up to six of each shape.
  • 8 1/4" Strips: Cut up to six 3" x 8 3/4" rectangles. Identify the blades that create the 8¼" cut strip. Place right side up over shape to cut up to six pieces.
  • 10 1/4" Strips: Cut up to six 3" x 10 3/4" rectangles. Identify the blades that create the 10¼" cut strip. Place right side up over shape to cut up to six pieces.
  • 12 1/4" Strips: Cut up to six 3" x 12 3/4" rectangles. Identify the blades that create the 12¼" cut strip. Place right side up over shape to cut up to six pieces.
  • 14 1/4" Strips: Cut up to six 3" x 14 3/4" rectangles. Identify the blades that create the 14¼" cut strip. Place right side up over shape to cut up to six pieces

Why Quilters Love the GO! Scrappy Binding Die:

  • Great way to use up scraps! Use one or multiple size shapes on die to make binding. Do not fan-fold fabric for cutting binding. Cut up to 6 layers of fabric ½" wider than finished shape, then place on blades and cut.
  • No more purchasing expensive Jelly Rolls! The GO! Scrappy Binding-2½" die is the perfect size to cut your own scrappy binding with your favorite fabrics or out of pieces from your stash.
  • GO! Scrappy Binding includes ¼" seam allowances for easy alignment and piecing.
  • To make binding, sew short edges of shapes right sides together using a ¼" seam allowance to create the desired length. Press seams open, then fold strip in half wrong sides together and attach to quilt.
  • Cut scrappy binding out of a variety of fabrics: cotton, batiks, flannel, fleece, Cuddle® fabrics and more!
  • Free pattern downloads available to get you started.

AccuQuilt Benefits:

  • Cut so much more fabric in less time.
  • Get accurate cuts every time -- No slipping rulers or mistakes
  • Easiest to use -- Simply place die on cutter, then fabric and cutting mat on top
  • Save fabric with Two Tone Foam -- Get more out of your fabric by placing it only over the shape you want to cut.
  • Safe to use -- No blades come anywhere near your fingers

Die Tips:

  • With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
  • Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle.  Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
  • Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
  • It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
