Meet Our Expert Teachers
Elizabeth Benda
Sewing Teacher
I am a retired Home Economics teacher, with a wealth of experience in textiles. I have spent my career living in many different communities in Alberta and BC, learning about what artists are creating , and sharing what I have learned. I now live in Bragg Creek, and continue to teach and learn.
In addition to my addiction to sewing, I have a passion for gardening as well. I have a large indoor space where I can escape to sew and talk to my plants. My three cats and Holly, my golden, share my spaces and try to interefere as much as possible.
Patricia Krasnozon
Embroidery Teacher
I began sewing at the age of 6, taught by my mother who was a professional seamstress. When my daughter showed an interest in learning to sew and wanted to include her friends as well, I bought several sewing machines and began teaching children to sew and quilt in my home. Eventually I opened a quilt shop and sewing school. This continued for 18 years. I purchased my first embroidery machine 24 years ago and I have continued to learn new methods such as embroidering lace, making entire projects in the hoop which sometimes include installing zippers. I have taught over the years at quilt shops, guilds, retreats and numerous quilting cruises over the years.
