New to sewing? Start here! In this class, you'll learn the basics—how to use a sewing machine, read simple patterns, and complete a small project with confidence. Perfect for absolute beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills.

There are 6 sewing machines available but feel free to bring your own (cost varies based on this)

Materials:Embroidery Machine with either 5”x7” or 6”x10” hoop, 5 embroidery threads coordinating thread colours – Suggested: green, pink, yellow, red, black (Suggested thread line: Glide), Bobbin thread – Brother, Notepad and pen/pencil.

CLASS KITS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE AT TIME OF CLASS OR PRIOR TO.

There are 4 embroidery machines available but feel free to bring your own (cost varies based on this)

In this class we will cover the basics you need to know to buy thread and stabilizers for embroidery. There will be a brief overview of the most common embroidery techniques. The class will include 3 embroidery samples to help you learn machine navigation.
In class embroidery samples will include:
1 - Multi-colour floral design – learn machine navigation within a design and understanding stitch sequencing and stitch charts
2 - Machine Applique Sample – common embroidery technique and best practices to achieve great looking applique
3 - Embroidering a name on a towel – use built in fonts to customize ANYTHING and working with tricky fabrics.

Students require:
- Embroidery Machine with either 5”x7” or 6”x10” hoop
- 5 embroidery threads coordinating thread colours – Suggested: green, pink, yellow, red, black (Suggested thread line: Glide)
- Bobbin thread – Brother
- Notepad and pen/pencil
