How do they do that?
The hardest part is filling out the form. You have a couple of very important decisions to make. There are a couple of colour choices, and backing choices, but all-in-all, it's not tough.
One you do that, you have to mail us the shirts. We prefer the whole as we have some specific sizing requirements. We even provide you with the mailing labels so you don't have to stand in line at the post office.
Once we get them, we will let you know we have them and give you an expected completion date.
Our quilters will trim the shirts, and use backing to stabilize them before we sew the together. We do suggest you purchase the additional sashing as it makes the quilt a bit larger and makes if feel nicer. But it's not required.
We will sew them together, and quilt them on the Statler longarm quilting machines. The quilts are finished with an edging, or binding for a perfect finish.
Yes, you can ask us to have the shirts in a specific arrangement, but you have to ask either when you do your order or shortly after. We will want pictures or some confirmation of the arrangement to help identify the shirts.
You can choose to have complete control over the colours and arrangement, or you can choose to let our quilters make the choices. They do this all the time, and we have very satisfied customers. Try us our... it's worth it!
Our 9 Square Memory Quilt
This quilt is constructed 3 x 3. It will be square, and will be lap size. On average, and depending on the size of the shirts submitted, the squares are 12" square. Based on this, the overall size is 48" square without sashing, and 52" square with sashing.
Unless we are given specific instructions with each order, our quilters will use their best judgement when assembling the quilts as to sizing, order and thread colours. Remember, we do this all the time, and we are good at this!
